If you buy a laptop with a 1050 Ti you are essentially buying a laptop with the same performance as your current one.
When you buy a new Laptop or whatever, make sure you are aware of how good different GPU's are. That's quite important to know how good GPU's are. Thought 1050 was stronger cause bigger number. I freaked out cause i didn't understand how cards work. I'm pretty sure if you tinker around with graphic settings you should be able to get a smooth framerate on a mix of low/medium/high settings (depending on what setting has high performance impact like shadows).Īlright cool.
Plus as I said, I have a 970M as well and other games from Frontier which have the same game engine like Elite Dangerous and Planet Coaster run fine as well. But the 970M is above minimum requirements. Originally posted by morph113:I mean nobody has really played the game properly yet or could check the performance so it's hard to judge. With older series like the 900er there is a big gap between a 970 and 970M. In the 1000er Nvidia series there isn't a big difference between mobile GPU's and desktop GPU's anymore, so a 1050 Ti on desktop and laptop have roughly the same performance. The 970M is about equal in performance to a 1050 Ti but still way ahead of a 1050 but way behind a 1060 or 970. On the right side there are pretty much all GPU's listed by performance, so it's easy to see which card is better than others. 60 is mid-range and 50 and lower is low range to lower mid range.
The last digits like 70 or 80 tell you about the performance.Ĭards ending with 70 and 80 are usually high-end cards with best performance, especially the Ti versions. The first number for nvidia cards only shows from which generation the card is, but tells you nothing about the performance. I have a 970M as well but the 970M is still ahead of a 1050 and of course better than a 660 anyway. There is a big difference between 970M and 970. I'm not a big tech guy so maybe you guys can tell me how a 970 and a 1050 are equal? Its weaker right? Smaller number?Īlso i should clarify. Originally posted by Shrek:Ok this might sound crazy but.
